The link below is to a interesting video. To my mind it debunks the idea that illegal immigrants in the United States are just folks looking for a better life.

Check it out if you like, I personally found parts to be disturbing.
If your of the opinion as I am that one of the biggest problems for the US right now is Illegal immigration. Check out
www.minutemanHQ.com or www.numbersUSA.com. Join up, help dispel the myth that American people working together can't stop illegal immigration

You must be some sort of dull-minded neo-con inspired racist.
Have you heard of La Raza ? They are the ones who think they are the 'superior' race on the North American continent. They are the ones that think most of the American southwest is still part of Mexico.
So I'm wrong for opposing them? Explain that to me kind sir.
Originally posted by Cartanthis is a bitchy thread. dont forget you all illegal immigrante over there. didnt you arrive by boat and beat up the natives to take their country?
And you must be one of the half-witted brigade who think they have nothing to lose by an influx of welfare-seeking immingrants from bankrupt societies.
😛

This dicussion isn't about the colonization of the New world, its about illegal immigration in the Uniited States today and what to do about it. Mexico fought and lost a war and was given money for the territories they lost... check your history books, Google it, I don't care which you do.

Groups such as La Raza and MEChA believe that those events never occurred and that the American southwest still belongs to Mexico. They like to ignore reality and substitue their own, I'm sure it works for them. However it doesn't for the rest of the world.

What I found curious was that it was hosted by ForTheCause, which I'd always thought a liberal organisation that sought a realistic "level playing field" (admittedly, my knowledge here may be superficial...I'm a Brit).
Has this movement always been around?
I also find it curious that such a potentially violent movement has not attracted previous attention ... others have posted in this forum about arresting potential terrorists before they commit atrocities...seems like you have some "home grown" ones right there.
Having said all that, I still don't beleive it is representative of the majority that seek a better life.
I think it is more likely being (ab)used as another vehicle for expanding anti-American hate.
Either way, it's ugly, and uses the Racist Card in a manner that, to me, dismantles a great deal of the work done in the US (and elsewhere) to combat the poison of racism.
Sorry, not having a clue as to a solution, I can offer no more than empathy.

The pro-illegal crowd usually can't come up with an intelligent argument, so they call people like us "racists." Name-calling is always easier than constructing an intelligent argument.

Plain and simple, it affects everything else that is important. Whether it be healthcare, education, Social Security or the overall econmic well being of the United States. Illegal immigrants are simply a great danger to the social fabric of this country.
The start to solving the problem is simple, hold the politicians feet to the fire and this includes President Bush and the administration. Amnesty of any sort is unacceptable for illegal immigrants in the country today.
Build the Fence, Secure the borders, and deport the Illegals!
Originally posted by SMSBear716Only because the notion of "illegal" regarding immigration did not exist in those days.
No, I'm afraid your wrong most of the ancestors of the people currently living in the US came here legally.
It was also legal to keep slaves, rape your wife, beat your children, and shoot Indians.
Ah, the good old days!
