Apparently California has decided that illegals should have the same in-state tuition rates as residents of California. Of course, US citizens who do not live in California must pay out of state tuition rates.

First of all, is this good policy? Second of all, when California goes belly up will the US federal government bail them out? Really I could care less what California does and how pathetically horrible they are when it comes to fiscal sanity. I just don't want to have to pay for it.

If you could "care less", why are you whining about it? I thought you were a big "states right" kind of guy. According to the article,

The California Legislature passed the controversial measure in 2001 that allowed any student, regardless of immigration status, who attended a California high school for at least three years and graduated to qualify for in-state tuition at the state's colleges and universities.

Doesn't the State of California have the "right" to decide that someone who graduates from their high schools should pay a lower tuition in State universities and colleges?

So the state of California is going to give in-state tuition toward illegals for whom there are federal laws against? In addition, they are going to show favoritism to them compared to legal citizens from other states? Hmm.

I realize that those on the left have brain disorders and can't help themselves but like I said, I just don't want to pay for it but the problem is that I know EVERYONE will be paying for their insanity.

No. No.

How are you "paying for" it? Actually, the students are paying for it.

Please actually read the decision before you shoot your ignorant mouth off about it. http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/MSNBC/Sections/NEWS/A_U.S.%20news/Life/Education/tuition.pdf

When I say "paying for it", I am talking about those who have to pay out of state fees who ARE citizens as well as California's continued fiscal issues. They have no intention of reducing their spending nor do they have any intention of addressing their entitlement frenzy such as allowing illegals in and giving them generalized state benefits.

Of course, if the federal government passed an amendment saying that any state who goes belly up will not be given any federal bail outs I would be more inclined to ignore them altogether and just watch them destroy themselves.

Whodey, money flows from California to the Federal government and then out to the welfare states, not the other way. We pay more than our share by far.
