A post like this on social media last year got people fired from their jobs when referring to Charlie Kirk. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2025/09/13/people-lose-jobs-posts-charlie-kirk-assassination/86109191007/
Do right wingers still agree a post like that regarding a deceased fellow American should be grounds for termination of the poster's employment?
@AThousandYoung saidNeither was Kirk though I hardly see how it would matter if he was.
Mueller wasn't assassinated by political partisans.
An utterly disgusting comment. On the one hand we have press pictures of evangelicals laying their hands on Trump and blessing him on his faux Christian ideological divine mission, and then he says something grotesque like this to reveal his true reprehensible, twisted and demonic nature. And to think that the MAGA nincompoops look up to him as an example of devout Christian compassion. With every word this lunatic utters the world becomes more surreal and unstable.
@Pianoman1 saidLook at the president calling Pretti and Good domestic terrorists. and of course the rest of his cabinet lackies and sycophants did the same less than an hour after they were murdered.

@sonhouse saidSickening deaths that make any right thinking person shudder in horror. And the shame of his sycophantic lackies, Vance, Hegseth and Rubio not having the balls to stand up to this madman.

@no1marauder saidWho said they were glad someone’s dead?

trump? If so, the man’s a moron and his supporters hypocrites.
Personally, I find joking about people dying, perfectly acceptable. Not at work though.
And politicians should just shut up. I canMt stand any of them.
@no1marauder saidThe poster in question should be fired from his post--I don't care any more what the pretext is.

@no1marauder saidIt is contemptible, but not any worse than Hillary joking and laughing about Gaddafi's torture and death.

Democrats defended her by saying Gaddafi was a horrible person. Well if that is a legitimate defense then Mueller was a horrible person who botched the anthrax investigation by going on a witch hunt after Steven Hatfill. And probably Bruce Ivins too.
I am sure that if Trump died a lot of people would be glad he is dead. He is a war criminal.
@no1marauder saidOutside of an employment status, everyone has a right to free speech. They can say it withour retributin of any nature I would think. I migh kick someone out of my house, which is a right that I have, of course. But they have a right to say it.

In a workplace, I would be concerned about discourse among employees ,hostile environment., or the chance that my clients might know I have someone like that on my staff. I have every right to fire them. No explanation needed. Further, if my client hears them saying that outside of my office, I would fire that employee.
I would do this, regardless my thoughts one way or another on the killng.
I would like an honest un-sarcastic response from Marauder, This is a debate forum.

@no1marauder said"Charlie Kirk was a missionary with a noble spirit, and a great, great purpose. He did not hate his opponent. He wanted the best for them. That’s where I disagreed with Charlie. I HATE my opponent, and I DON’T want the best for them. I’m sorry." - Donald Trump

That's Trump. He's a cringe machine. His supporters don't want him as their pastor. They just want his policies.
The fervor on the left and right to get people fired over expressed opinions is a real bummer. Both sides have their hypocrites.
@no1marauder saidI missed something. How does one get fired from social media? Do you mean Russ on RHP? If you do, the persons violated terms of (his published) membership. As do all those others like meta and My space, I am not familiar with them.
Virtually all the comments that got people fired in the Charlie Kirk case and the one in the title of the thread were made on social media, not the workplace.
Round it out, give those who are not familiar some specifics. Matthew Dodd worked for a company (MSNBC?) that had every right to fire him. Do you agree,? And tell us this, the big question, where does somethin like this end? Do yuou want govt agencies ro dicate such HR procedures?? What if you and Suzianne were in the agency, and I have a firm to run. I want to fire a certain cretin who keeps demeaning Biden at the water cooler. Disrupts our atmosphere, whatever?
