    50 years ago in the Army I took Chloroquin every week in Vietnam to stave off malaria.
    It was issued to us.
    No problems here.

    That would be because they knew the proper dose. People now who would take it would be motivated to maybe double their dose thinking if one gram is good, TWO grams would be wonderful. Then they die. Well, that would cure them of the virus....
    On top of that, it has ZERO effect as a preventative. If it helps at all it is after you already have the disease and it's effect would be to calm down the immune explosion that kills people from this disease and it is not even in that case a sure thing.

    So go ahead, take it if it makes you fell better. Just don't expect it to help you keep from getting it if someone with the disease coughs near you.

    It's funny, even though I have an MD, it is Master of Dremel. But outside of that I have this talent called READING. And it is a fact the fatal dose of Cholorquin is about double the medically effective dose.
