Not that I have any trust in the Bush administration, but what you're saying seems to implicate only the undersecretary. The only thing Bush can be accused of is nominating a douche bag.

Still, someone needs to be held accountable for what happened.

A considerable percentage of the actions of Bush and Rumsfeld, and those working for them, have been impeachable offenses. The Republican Congress never would consider it, and the Democrats, now they are in power, likely do not see impeachments as the way to expand and solidify their power.

No, it doesn't make sense to punish the entire admistration for one person's act. That part is illogical. Hovever, the part about being unfit to hold office is spot-on. We were all bamboozeled and no one has been held accountable. No one! They act like "oh, we were wrong (read: lied), but it doesn't matter because things are great the way they turned out anyway. That the whole nation isn't rioting in protest is a testimate to our collective political apathy. Who cares about those things when playing chess is so much more interesting (no, I do not excuse myself).
