"America’s new year’s resolution: impeach Trump and remove him"
    --Robert Reich

"We would no longer live in a democracy. Like his increasing attacks
on critics in the press, these are all aspects of his growing authoritarianism.
We normalize them at our peril.

America’s democratic institutions remain strong, but I’m not sure
they can endure two more years of this. Trump must be removed
from office through impeachment, or his own decision to resign in
the face of impeachment, as did Richard Nixon.

Republican members of Congress must join with Democrats to get
this task done as quickly as possible. Nothing is more urgent.
It must be, in effect, America’s new year’s resolution."

This may be the final thread of 2018 about impeachment.

Someone should go back and count all the threads we have had about it since the Presidency.

How many threads about his impeachment will we have in 2019?

... And how many will we have about it during his second term in office?

This stuff is a ridiculous distraction.

What would you say is sufficient reason to remove a president from office?

In order to be less misleading, KazetNagorra should have made it clearer that
"America’s democratic institutions remain strong" was what I QUOTED from
Robert Reich, NOT my own statement or belief.

Revealing US military plans to Russian diplomats in the Whitehouse (oh no, one surely didn’t think I’d forget that wee one... yes... there’s sommuch faeces to wade through, but I never forget the classics).
    - treason

Being unhinged, forgetful, erratic and incompetent.
    - remove him on medical grounds

Ach. The list could probably contain 10 more serious reasons for removing him.
    But, it’s not gonna happen.
The republicants don’t have the labia (that’s the 2019 goto word for guts) to do it.
They’d much rather have a raving mad, senile, moronic, narcissitic, sexist power-mad geriatric in charge than a democrat.

It was information passed on by Mossad rather than US military plans, as I recall. Also it's only treason if the US is at war with Russia. By which point it's bad policy and not obviously grounds for impeachment. Although, as I understand it, grounds for impeachment are whatever Congress decides is sufficient, so they could impeach him for fake tan.

    Why ridiculous?
Bookmakers are pretty good at working out what is ridiculous or not.

UK Bookmaker Paddy Power currently has the odds Trump will
not complete his first term in office at 6-4, suggesting there’s a
40-percent chance he will not stay in office through 2020.

    Distraction from what?
Do you think debating this on a chess forum is detrimental to government?
You have ahigh opinion of yourself if hat is the case!

From the general mindset of the USAlien people?

Impeach Trump, you get Pence. Or Paul Ryan. Or Logan Paul, or Pewdiepie.

Trumpites love talking about "draining the swamp", but the real swamp is the electorate they themselves rely on.
