The invention of God?
The invention of the statist god to be exact.
Man used to convince us that he was a god, then when that no longer worked he convinced us that he spoke for god, and when that no longer worked he convinced us that there was no god, which continued to make him the final authority as if he were still a god.
With the rise of Islam and their Sharia law, I'm guessing we are going back to people speaking for God.

There's always some new threat the goobermint must defend us from; drugs, independent thought, self-responsibility...of course they have to come up with other names for all these threats. Hell, imagine if someone decided to work for less than the goobermint mandated minimum wage, collapse of society no doubt, we need to be grateful to the state overlords.
Well the same thing happened with wealth, all the lefties were gathered in a big circle jerk, chanting "mind the gap, mind the gap, mind the gap" when there was an enormous spooge.
"We'll make folk with a lot of money into the new bogeys, they're a minority don't you see"
"If you have too much money in our opinion you'll be classified as greedy"
"weeeee, mind the gap, mind the gap, weeeeee"
But calling people names is no good, that's not enough, we're going to need some buratcracies populated by thousands of parasitical bureaurats and force, lot's of force and threats of force, weeee, mind the gap.
And so unto the common man came the threat of 'greed' and verily the lefties invented themselves as saviors.

Greed was not invented, it just is. And it is not the "gap that is the problem. It is the cause of the "gap" that is the problem. That is a combination of both greed and ignorance. Compounded by the blindness to the pain that this causes. If to many worked for less than minimum then poverty would increase and the lack of taxes that low wages pay would not be enough to fix it.
