@no1marauder saidI would think, given the State of the Union which Biden will soon avail us of, that he is the most disliked politician.
IF the Republicans nominate Trump again and IF, in violation of the 14th Amendment he is allowed on the ballot, I rate it as a 90% likelihood he'll lose again, in all probability by a wider margin.
This result will be the same regardless of whether he faces Biden or a replacement. He is, as Nikki Haley said, "“the most disliked politician in all of America.” https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4169315-haley-trump-criticism-most-disliked-politician/
How could a guy like Trump, sitting on the sidelines, ruining no lives, be more disliked? Hurry, I am sub-professing an ethics class at 1 tomorrow. Would welcome new fodder! Most students are liberal, too.

@wildgrass saidYour claim is based .................................................. what exactly?
Unfit for the presidency but they'll still vote for him.
Sure, some of that group might reconsider but many won't. And they don't have to vote for a Democratic candidate for that to spell doom for Trump; if they sit on their hands or vote for a third party, the result is the same.
@averagejoe1 saidAsk Herschel Walker.

Or Mehmet Oz.
Or Blake Masters.
Or heck Kelly Tshibaka.
All were Senate candidates endorsed and pushed by Donald Trump, the first three in critical toss-up States. They all lost.
Trump is political poison to all voters but conservative Republicans as the results since 2016 make clear.

But outside of the US, anybody with a morbid sense of humor does wish him upon the US. Bring that cataclysmic capitalist train of horror to Cassandra and shove it off the bridge.

@no1marauder saidBased on head to head polling data trump vs Biden.

They might hate trump but they hate Biden more

@wildgrass saidYou're wrong; head to head polling data is almost worthless now and shows a very high number of undecideds or third party support that will disappear as the election gets closer in time. Nor has Trump been convicted - yet - though the chances that he will be before the general election are high.

And many undecideds don't believe it will wind up as a Trump-Biden race anyway and are hedging their bets. https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/12/politics/trump-biden-2024-campaign/index.html
You must not have been keeping track of recent elections if you think the MAGA movement has helped Republican chances.
@shavixmir saidWishing him on the US is also wishing him on Europe. Germany is already exploring their options on how to see Ukraine funded if Trump Putinfriend shuts down Ukraine funding or pulls the US out of NATO. We won't be the only ones paying for a Trump presidency, in more ways than one.

@sh76 saidIt was so close to the Iowa primary why not see how many votes he gets? I see no logical reason to pull out after spending campaign money and if he was out of money he could have still waited to see how he did in Iowa before he pulled out.
If I were Chris Christie, I wouldn't have entered the race in the first place (and I'd strongly consider Ozempic).
He had no chance in Iowa. Why be humiliated? Or maybe he thinks Trump will give him a job. I don't know. But I don't consider it suspicious at all.
Apparently some democrats are voting for Nikki. Republicans should do the same for Williamson.

I don't agree with No1 that Trump will definitely lose (I give him about a 40% chance), but Haley would be the far stronger general election candidate.
Dems should be supporting Trump all the way until he secures the nomination (as they did in 2016).

An election about Donald Trump is one they almost certainly lose.
But it is always about Trump to Trump.

@sh76 saidIf you were Chris Christie would you have ended your campaign a mere 5 days before the Iowa primary?

@metal-brain saidHe didn't even campaign in Iowa and the last three polls before he dropped out, by Suffolk University, Iowa St./Civiqs and Trafalgar had him between 2 and 4%. https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/president/republican-primary/2024/iowa-caucus

"He did not set foot in Iowa during his campaign."

There seems to have been little reason for him to wait for the Iowa results.
