It seems that amid all the howling by republicans concerning IRS targeting of conservative groups, this "targeting" was started by another republican! Hmmmm....

No conservative worth their salt cares anything about the GOP anymore. The GOP has long been at war with conservatives as was demonstrated in the 2010 elections.
The IRS abuses show that the system is broken. As I've said, the GOP uses the IRS for their own political purposes, that is the main function of the IRS. For example, how on earth would they function without giving corporate America tax breaks etc.?
I've also said that nothing will come of this, even though the abuses are acknowledged by both parties. It is like the greatest intelligence leak in US history, the government is illegally monitoring us all, but nothing will come of it bill. Do you even care?
