Just a thought, but is there anyone out there who thinks their political leader is just marvellous? Who feels warm with gratitide at the wonderful job they are doing? And if there isn't, does that mean that all leaders are inevitably useless, or just that plebs like us will always hate whoever happens to be in power?

I can't stand Tony Blair, but maybe it's just a jealousy thing - perhaps I'm desperate to be a goofy teethed, power-mad luntatic too?

Rich.

The leader of the fair country of Holland is prime-minister Balkenende (one of the 4 B's).
He's upper chief of the conservative Christian party here in Holland.

He's for increasing indirect taxes, lowering direct taxation, he's pro deportation camps for refugees, pro the war in Iraq, he's for creating 'special' universities which can charge over the odds and thus excluding everyone but the rich and he's for Christian schools and opposed to Islamic schools.
Oh. And he lived with his mother until he was 40.

Yeah. I'm mighty glad this pea-brain is leading our nation.
His government even wants to ban smoking in marijuana-houses (coffee shops)... Mental, I tells ya, mental.

Now, wait a second, don't be to harsh on JP. He's doing everything he can, which isn't easy in these times of economic recession!

It's interesting though. Now that we're in the communication age, and every crazy little thing that a leader does is open to scrutiny by the world, perhaps it's no longer pssible to keep the masses content? Or in other words, maybe mass contentment is only ever a product of mass ignorance?

Rich.

I live in America. We're going to have an election this November. The canidates are Bush and Better looking version of Bush (Kerry). I'm sure that's why some people are voting for Kerry. Any way Bush did the "No Child Let Behind" program. This means we all have to learn to read by 3rd grade .'m in 6th I love to read, but there are still people in my class who can't spell their own name. He did a plan for the youth but he never went farther than a speech. Bush doesn't care about my future, so why should I bother caring about his? Kerry will do the exact same thing. He'll make a speech about how important it is for me to become a vet, but I won't get book prices lowered or any chemistry classes next year. If I was old enough to vote, Al Sharpton (someone who gives a crap) would have been my president. Point is as long as there's people like Kerry and Bush running why should I vote? Please give me a reason.

Al Sharpton? Give me a break. How about Colin Powell? A respected statesman and former military man who has seen both sides of the fence.๐Ÿ™‚

millitary men should never be in government - in my opinion that is - here in Israel it's been done almost to death (and by that I mean the death of everyone living in the region)

I think only those who have voluntarily served in the military should be allowed to vote or run for office. In fact, only veterans should be awarded fully citizenship. ๐Ÿ˜‰
