Well, I hesitate to use the word "goodness" because of moral implications. I have no doubt that duct tape is used for both moral and immoral purposes. That was actually Gene Kelly when they filmed the "Singing in the Rain" scene. The duct tape kept his soles from getting soggy and heavy.
