These are people who feel that they have been persecuted by western nations and cannot compete on an army versus army basis. Nor have I forgotten how prevalent ignorant views of Islam are. It is very true that we need to be vigilant against Muslim Extremism. However, one of the very sources that fuels Extremism is such an intolerant view of Islam.
We need an active dialogue with Islamic societies and we need to encourage those within the Islamic societies to stamp out extremism. Being intolerant of the entire religion is not condusive to this at all.

I know the answer is yes. Another question is what is the best approach to a dialogue? condeming the entire religion or acknowledging that its practitioners are a very diverse group and that we need to have a dialogue with the moderate majority?
