Its not that.

I just don't get how calling people names is going to contribute to a serious debate.
I'm mocking you... you didn't get it... oh well... how old are you?

Why don't you preach with the example and don't call names?

Islam is not a violent religion. Certain sects are certainly quite violent, but the causes of this should be discussed. These are people who feel that they have been persecuted by western nations and cannot compete on an army versus army basis. So, in their desperation they strap bombs to themselves and their children. Do you really think that they want their children to blow themselves up? Don't be daft.

I have quite a few Muslim friends who are just as appalled by the violence as you are. You need to get a better understanding about Islam before spouting right winged dogma.

You're a Brazilian living in the UK. I'm an American living in the US. I haven't forgotten about 9/11.

Nor have I forgotten how prevalent ignorant views of Islam are. It is very true that we need to be vigilant against Muslim Extremism. However, one of the very sources that fuels Extremism is such an intolerant view of Islam.

We need an active dialogue with Islamic societies and we need to encourage those within the Islamic societies to stamp out extremism. Being intolerant of the entire religion is not condusive to this at all.

The question is, Are they willing to start a dialogue?

I know the answer is yes. Another question is what is the best approach to a dialogue? condeming the entire religion or acknowledging that its practitioners are a very diverse group and that we need to have a dialogue with the moderate majority?

If they are willing to have a dialogue then, I agree with you.

Good. This is an example of dialogue... (an example, hopefully) for others on the forum. Rather than attacking and focusing on differences, lets find common ground.

Horse feathers! One does not "dialogue" with murderous thugs. That would be "appeasement", and you know what Churchill said about that, don't ya? "Appeasement is feeding the alligator and hoping he eats you last."

Your assumption is that all muslims are muderous thugs then?

No, just the "certain violent sects" mentioned in the preceding post.
