The practice of Psychology has been called a "pesudo science" by Tom Cruise and others, and while I doubt Mr. Cruise is qualified to have the final word on this subject, I must admit I've never heard of a Psychologist curing anyone of anything. Thoughts?

Tom Cruise is a Scientologist. They are required to hate psychiatrists. They want to REPLACE psychiatry with "dianetics". Dianetics is pseudo science.

Psychology is a science. It has cured people of things like phobias and it allows predictions of behavior.

Psychology, like medicine, is a modality of the art of healing. Modern medicine and psychology are both informed by science, with notable exceptions (Lacanian analysis would be a glaring example).

This is an interesting question. I assume you've done the same google searches I have. Tom Cruise was on about psychiatry, which is different from psychology. The way I understand it is a psychologist is a therapist, the ones you talk too about your problems and they tell you it's all your parent's fault. Psychiatrists, on the other hand, are who you go to if you want to destroy your liver.

Maybe. Medicine once scientifically prescribed leeches and bleeding. There are still medical practices which are more faith than fact.
