I got into handguns in the Army when I was handed a .45 Colt 1911 Auto in Vietnam, along with an M16.
Since 1970 onwards, I poo-Poo'd the "puny 9mm" other military handguns were chambered for because of its chitty ballistics at the time.
That was 50 years ago, and now the 9mm Luger is the absolute best military/police/defense cartridge in the world according to it's record of stopping power.
Anybody disagree?

It’s the AR15 of pistols. Efficient with high magazine capacity and low recoil. Probably the best multipurpose sidearm.

Crossbows!

Agreed.
High capacity, low recoil and muzzle flash, and has a one-shot stopping power up with the best handgun cartridges.
Plus 9mm ammo is dirt cheap and readily available everywhere you go.

"It's not the size, it's how you use it."

Sound familiar?

We got the 9mm browning and that thing can make a big hole and quite accurate at a short distance which is about all you need for home defence.

Browning Hi-Power was an awesome gun when introduced, it was John Browning's last pistol design before his death in 1926, and like all of his other guns it has stood the test of time. It is still a top choice, accurate, reliable, and it is elegant compared to the big black blocky plastic Glocks and their clones.
