Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has suffered a "significant" stroke and is unconscious, doctors at Jerusalem's Hadassah hospital say.
Officials said the 77-year-old leader was on a respirator and had experienced "massive" cerebral bleeding.

The Israeli leader's powers have been transferred to his deputy Ehud Olmert.

Listening to CNN, I come to the conclusion this is a very serious stroke indeed ["massive bleeding in the brain"]. It seems Sharon will not be able to play a role of significance in Israeli politics anymore.

I've never been a fan of Mr Sharon. I do find it slightly ironic that his brain is bleeding heavily now just as it was beginning to think straight. He was beginning to take a more pragmatic and realistic approach to the the troubles in the Holy Lands.

He has been brave in recent months, I hope the new leadership has the courage to follow the new course.

There is a 90% chance that he will not lead the country again.

But God didn't mind when he was responsible for the killing of hundreds of unarned civilians at the Sabra and Shatila refuge camps?

He should be in the dock beside Saddam.

I don't like Sharron, but I don't want him to die miserably. Nobody should die like that. I hope that, should Sharron pass away, he dies peacefully and happily.

I don't.
He allowed mass murder. And when you smell the rot of hundreds of corpses, you never want the perpetrator to die lightly.

I hope he suffers to the end.

Yea, it just couldn't have been that he weighed 300 lbs and was in his late 70's.
