I really don't put much credence in the notion that the Limbaughs of the world won 2004 for them. Terrorism was to the GOP as the economic crisis was to the Dems in 2008. And boy were they milking that one to the fullest with all of those carefully timed "Orange Alerts"
I said 1994, not 2004. Limbaugh didn't have much to do with 2004. I agree with that.

actually, MSNBC has been hammering Obama (and the centrist Democrats) for making too many compromises on healthcare, and not pushing hard enough for the public option. There's also been criticism on Afghanistan and Iraq.

Oh; please.

MSNBC was completely in the tank for Obama all the way through the primary and election. The fact that they're now discovering that perhaps he's not far enough left to suit them doesn't mean they aren't liberal shills to the at least same extent that Fox show hosts are conservative shills.

While MSNBC is certainly Liberal, with overtly Liberal shows (like Olbermann and Meadow) they at least have lots of nutral segments of just covering the news...

Fox is just 'round the clock Republican spin with some segments being more blatent than others. All the while they keep insisting they're "fair and ballanced"

You mean like "neutral" David Gregory or Chris Mathews?

Shep Smith is every bit as neutral as David Gregory.

I think that a major problem for the Obama administration is that they're not used to hostile media. Most of the media couldn't stand Bush from the get-go; and so they were trained and experienced in the art of operating under a hostile media.

I'm sure the Hillary campaign (and what would have been the Hillary White House) would be just as adept.

Obama a ...[text shortened]... the President should do it himself; he's a lot better at it than his staff members are.
Nixonian enemies list! Wow! Fox news, Humana, US Chamber of Commerce. Where will it all end? Telling the other networks what to do? Never in my wildest dreams/nightmares did I imagine a whiner in chief stooping this low. Obama is asking the other networks to not follow the Fox stories. Does this mean don't cover ACORN and other stories like the Olympics debacle, the Afghanistan debacle, the Anita Dunn admiring Mao story? Does this mean only report favorable polls? Where will it all end?

Without partisanship, or at leat the appearance thereof, where would our interests lie? In fact, we might even hold them accountable for thigs. Frightening!!! 😲

as a group of american patriots who consider themselves to be the guardians of everything the founding fathers held dear, how could their views ever be considered as being anything other than fair and balanced. The fact that their views happen to resonate with those held by the GOP and that they at times seem to be an extension of their propoganda arm is one of life's many happy coincidences 😉

Duh. Most of us have said this on here at one point or another. So what?

This "yes, our side is wrong, but your side isn't right" retort gets really old.

So you're OK with Obama getting the ball rolling and attempting to pull a Chavez? Never has a sitting president singled out a whole news organization as a problem before this last week. If you're comfortable with a fawning press and a prez so thin skinned he can't take the heat then you would love Castro, Chavez, Mao ad nauseam!

+54 seats in the House

+7 Seats in the Senate +2 defections = +9

Taking over both houses of Congress for the first time since the 1950s.

That victory.

So for six years of the Democrat Clinton Administration the GOP held majorities in both houses and yet they still complain about that era? 🙄
