It's not so bad out there

Despite the loud and persistent wailings from the right wing telling everyone that will listen that the America is in a horrible state of affairs, the overall situation looks pretty good. Inflation continues to cool; unemployment is at or below 4%, illegal border crossings have dropped by 50% just since January, and violent crime (despite Republican lies) has dropped for the 3rd straight year. I would invite all of you to stop letting your respective media outlets do your research for you and do your own research - It's not so bad out there.

The media has an insentive to sell itself. So, a headline like: “We’re all fu&@ing doomed! Get tae yer bunker… too late!!!” is going to draw a larger audience than: “Road crossing safety has led to a 3% decrease in fatal hit and runs on grannies.”

The majority of people complaining about the state of affairs online are people who have jobs, a home, internet connections, etc.
Obviously some of the right-wingers here are living in their mothers’ basements, but they’re still eating well, drinking and have enough energy to spank their monkeys to the sound of their mothers sitting on washing machines enjoying themselves.

Or something. God only knows, but very few of them (if any) are being overrun by machete wielding hordes crossing borders.

Alas, sort of the same can be said about the left. Yes, the environment is not in good health, but we’re not drowning in flaming seas and nobody has ever spontaniously combusted after a wrong pronoun has been used.

The difference between the two is that one is driven by fear and hatred (of foreigners, other religions and women) and the other is being driven by fear about the future going to pot for everyone.

So, you see that the where the left wingers hope for an inclusive future for all, the right wingers want an exclusive future for themselves.

And that basic difference is why left-wingers are nicer than right-wingers. And why left-wingers get laid and right-wingers turn into incels.

Such is the way of the world. I digress…
