hard on the heels of various westminster documents in the 1970's saying that scotland's ecomony would benefit from independence on the back of oil and gas reserves, bbc radio 4 (8pm) have a program on tonight exposing the duplicity of that westminster government of hiding the truth.
indeed one such report suggests that the snp figures at the time were on the conservative side!
i wont be able to hear the program myself, but would be interested in anyone who does, and what they think.
gives us back our money!
its still scotlands oil!

Seriously though, all this makes fascinating raeding. The Labour establishment were clearly scared sh-less about the prospects of independence, and what it would do to the economy of the rest of the UK.
So, after all this time, they DID steal our oil!
Unfortunately for you, Scotland is/was part of the UK so you can't just have all the oil to yourself.
It's like Yorkshire and the North East wanting independence because Westminster "stole" all our coal.
The problem is, you get a temporary economical boost when the oil/coal is plentiful, but it will run out eventually.
You want independence when you have plenty, but are happy to be helped out in the hard times.

We want independence anyway.
The fact that Scotland economically propped up the rest of the UK for decades, and a labour government in London lied about this, just confirms this.

I actually think both countries would be better off if there was a split.
Socially, Politically and Financially the current system is flawed. Get the Scottish Mafia out of Westminster, so that we can embrace England in Europe.

I don't know if we'd want Brown back.
