Republicans are too dogmatic and not grounded in realism.

Democrats are simply incapable of doing anything constructive.

President Obama has spent two years dithering between centrism and trying to be that guy he claimed to be during the campaign and has come down firmly on neither side.

I don't know who to blame more, but this is getting pathetic. 33% of federal spending is now deficit spending. All the wasteful "stimulus" spending has turned out to be misdirected and of marginal utility. Economic messages are mixed and ineffective. Our foreign policy is murky and virtually useless. We can't even keep Israelis and Palestinians at the table and handling of the Korea tension and relations with China and Russia is one comical blunder after another.

Someone talk me off the ledge.

Please.

Hey, at least you can move somewhere else. Most immigration services don't mind welcoming Americans.

Did that cheer you up?

You don't need to be supportive any party until next elections, just defend your points of view and criticize both sides if you think both need to be criticized.

If I had to start somewhere for a fix, I'd start with changing how the U.S. Senate operates. Most of its rules are just that: rules. They are not in the Constitution and they can be easily changed by Senators. Oh, except that they'll have to have some resolve to do that. If a million people marched on Washington and besieged the Capitol Building until Senators fundamentally changed their asininely ass-backward Rube Goldberg parliamentary procedures and rules, well, then perhaps the Republic would be able to move forward a smidge.

Step 2: growing a spine for Obama in a test tube.

A man was hanging by a thin vine from a ledge. A tiger stared down at him from above; another tiger prowled and growled directly below. And then a field mouse started gnawing at the vine. As he was getting numb with despair, the man happened to notice a wild strawberry growing improbably out of the rocks near him. He stretched and stretched and stretched, until he could just reach out and pluck the strawberry. How unbelievably sweet that berry tasted!

Yesterday I voted,
the day before I voiced my voice.
Tomorrow all may collapse!
But today, today…!

The tiger infested habitat is the real world. The strawberry is the promise of socialistic utopia. Obama is the idiot who, ignoring reality, climbed down the vine to get it.

Tea Party is the mouse.

LOL!! Nicely done, really. Or—

The tiger-infested habitat is the real laissez-faire world.

The strawberry is the utopian promise of “the invisible hand”.

The idiot who climbed down the vine is a tea-partier.

The next economic crisis is the mouse!

And here I was, just trying to kid Sh76 off the ledge! And the strawberry is just what you can do and enjoy today. (Also, in the old Zen parable, the man did not climb down the vine to get the strawberry, which he did not notice till after.) Nevertheless, by all means keep gnawing, until you get the predictable chaotic result…

But the government must continue deficit spending otherwise people would be dying in the streets!! 😲

Also, why is the US in the middle of the Korean and Israeli affairs? Why not pick another sucker to be the go between? In fact, why not just let them handle it themselves?

As for the federal government, there is no arguement that it has become a failed institution. It is therefore, my suggestion that we return to federalism and allow states to govern themselves once again. in fact, one of the few responsibilities the federal government was given under the Constitution, namely immigration, is being ignored. Of course, you could say that the Dream Act is addressing it I suppose. Hilarious!!!

Don't go over the ledge. People have been betting against America for over 200 years. It will get better. As I've said before...this is the new normal. It will take years, and perhaps decades to fix this economy. Keep your financial house in order, and remember...Persistence pays.😏
