In fact yes, there was a Nobel prize and it was about the anti-parasitic effect.
And yes people try for other uses of medications regularly. But because there is research on it doesn't mean it is a foregone conclusion.

It is a very safe drug with correct dosage. The horse paste slander was pure propaganda. They convinced a lot of people ivermectin was nothing more than animal meds. It is used to treat malaria.

Malaria kills a lot of people. Over 600,000 deaths per year.

That means ivermectin saved a lot of lives and has the potential for saving a lot more lives. Democrats like to do the numbers game to support the covid vaccines and vaccines in general. Well malaria is another numbers game. If democrats really care about saving lives stop demonizing a wonder drug that saves lives across the world.
I think the reason Texas is allowing over the counter access is because they had a case of malaria there. The USA used to have a malaria problem, probably from African slaves that were brought here. Malaria was eliminated probably from the use of DDT. The Libertarians used to say DDT saves lives because it was important to the elimination of malaria in the US. Despite the environmental harms it causes they argues the ban should be lifted. So there is another numbers game. DDT saved lives, but it is a poison.

Lower the speed limit on the freeways. That would save lives. Do democrats really respect number games? Nope. Getting somewhere faster is more important than saving lives. DDT is harmful to the environment, so I can see why democrats would not want to lift the ban on it, but why the problem with ivermectin? It does not harm the environment and it is safer than Tylenol.
Democrats need to get over their unhealthy aversion to ivermectin. It saves a lot of lives.
