Kimmel wasn’t fired because of cancel culture. He was fired because the American government is a fascist one.

I think that could be taken as an implication that the shooter was MAGA (which is factually inaccurate but, to be fair, there was a lot of speculation he might be because of his conservative family background and other factors - heck, people were saying Israel might have done it). If Kimmel was a news program, he probably should have given a correction but I'm not sure such a rule applies to talk show host monologues.
