For those interested in American politics...
Today the comedian Jon Stewart went on the political show Crossfire. He scolded the hosts (Democrat Paul Begala and Republican Tucker Carlson) for their shallow and confrontational style. In the ensuing melee, I think Stewart came out the winner, beating them at their own game.
Here is a link to the 13-minute segment (kids should not watch as there is a bit of foul language):

I really doubt it.
You see. Stewart has a staff of writers that make a total of 3.4 million per annum.
They wrote it. Planned it. Made it happen.
Begala is a minor nobody who has the lowest 7 pm ratings of all cable news.
Tucker is the only conservative they could find who is dumb enough to lose on demand to silly any anti-logical argument. So "He's the schill"
Did you think to look up at who gains if Stewart Wins?
Guess what? It is the same owners of the two idiots on Cross Fire.
What a joke.
Oh, sorry. Wasn't supposed to think... or notice.
Is there an effort to destroy the US Constitution through "dumbing down"?
Yes. This is a perfect example of said collusion. Sad day for freedom.
<edit> because more people under 30 view Stewart as being more "news worthy" than any other source. Sick world. But that is what we get. You can't shoot em'. It's not nice.

JS kinda peetered out at the end, but given the venue I think he did a terrific job. Especially since unlike most other previous guests on the show, he didn't have a host to come to his defense every 5 secs.
I think he made some interesting points and displayed a far superior whit.
You are a perfect example of why I make fun of the need to vote.
It is really only a matter of statistics.
Any totally devoted and learned soul is cast out of bliss by a single nitwit who can't spell "wit".... nor "nit" if asked.

Ask a guy a question he doesn't like and he'll challenge you to a duel.
Newspapers continue to be the toughest when it comes to questioning a politician, but alas fewer people read newspapers today so politicians aren't as worried.
Originally posted by StarValleyWyThanks for catching the error. While we are criticizing the smallest of errors in posts, perhaps you should take a closer look at the horrendous grammar in your post.

Furthermore, I doubt you know the first thing about stastistics so I would strongly caution you not appealing to it. Anyhow pissing off one crotchety old man has been amusement enough for this evening. I'll leave you alone to continue filling the entire first page of threads with your name.
Originally posted by StarValleyWyI think maybe you missed the point SVW. Clearly you are correct that Begala and Tucker are idiots, Stewart as well, for that matter. However, the larger point, perhaps, is that it took a comedian to tell these 'journalists' how to do their job. The point is not whether Stewart won but that he spoke truth to power and it was LONG overdue.
The point is that he was up against two certified idiots. Could he have done that against me?

Few journalists will do their job in this country and actually try to have candidates answer pointed questions. All they really care about is being seen by as many people as possible while they are asking questions that they could not care less about. I wonder if you will agree with me that while Stewart would not stand a chance against your dazzling intelect, he did rasie an interesting point?
