He gets into the facts backed up six ways from Sunday, thorough is his byword, done all the POTUS's for 50 years and the surprising thing is how Trump actually opened up and admitted dire things he said in private about Covid but at the same time BSing the public saying it will go away when weather warms up and such, TOTAL lies.
I was struck by how sincere Tillerson and General Mattis sounded, genuinely interested in doing their very best for the US with no hidden motives. Of course not the same with Trump.
Heartily recommend EVERYONE read it. If you do you will come out with a different opinion of Trump if you are one of his Trumpites.
Well, maybe, it usually goes like fighting a beloved religious leader, the more folks bitch about said leader, the more his protectors and backers dig down in their support for their leader even in the face of overwhelming negative evidence.

Bout 1/3 way through and it is a history lesson with so far Woodward not passing judgement. It paints a picture of Coats, Mattis, Tillerson as real humans, with a zeal to do the country honor. The gist of that is, as soon as someone competent comes in, Trump does some dirty work and then they are out. Trump does not want ANYONE to counter anything he says, so if ALL the intel folks say Russia is screwing with our elections, 2016, 2018, 2020, Especially that last, Trump is all over anyone who even faintly suggests Russia is meddling with our elections, that is a big no no since Putin CLEARLY has SOMETHING on Trump.
