"Assault on school personnel was the third most reported form of crime and violence in North Carolina public schools after possession of controlled substances and possession of weapons. Statewide, there were 1,482 assaults by students against public school employees during the 2022-2023 school year."
@cliff-mashburnsaid Problem is we have to cater to them or be condemned as racist.
Thats what I said. If by catering you mean allowing them to abuse teachers the authorities have failed. It makes no difference what people condemn you as ... whether it is racist, bigot, islmaphobic, or whatever nonsense is in fashion. Being labeled as failures should be the prime concern of authorities.
A primary justification for public education is teaching civics: understanding your rights and obligations, understanding the law, etc. We can’t expect people to obey the law if they are never taught what it is.
In this case, depending on the outcome, the students might get a VERY wrong idea about this incident. For example, in a “stand you ground” state, just off school property, the teacher might draw a pistol after the first slap and shoot the student dead before he delivers the second.
No way these students appreciate that aspect of the lesson.
@Cliff-Mashburn So you take an incident that could result in that student's expulsion, I don't know what happened there but you take one incident and then label the entire teenage years as defiant and rebels eager to grab weapons and kill fellow students. That happens for sure as we all know but we also know there are very few who actually follow through and kill.

It’s because ou are a racist and that’s why you only post videos of black people being obnoxious as if no white student has ever assaulted a teacher or indeed shot lots of teachers and children
Why do we have to tolerate these white murderers
