Kamala does not have the democrat nomination yet.
I don't know if there is any rule that says you cannot pick a veep before securing the nomination but it is not normally done. Seems to me all this talk about her veep is to fool people into thinking Kamala is the inevitable pick.

AOC says democrat insiders want to replace the whole ticket. She said they secretly do not want Kamala.

Someone from a swing State would be preferable; I think that's either Shapiro or Kelly.

Downside for Kelly would be when Harris wins, we'd have to defend his Senate seat in a special election in 2026.
