HMM, no right wingers but the religious nut have anything to say about this? Not only was the vote not close, but turnout was double for what it usually is for a Kansas primary election. https://news.yahoo.com/losing-anti-abortion-referendum-kansas-041631147.html
Dobbs might be a millstone on a lot of Republican necks this fall. It also helps when Republican Senators start saying that funding for Social Security and Medicare should be up for a vote every year. https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/3587152-ron-johnson-suggests-medicare-social-security-be-approved-on-annual-basis/
@jimm619 saidI was surprised by this, to be sure. Approximately 60 percent to 40 percent against, in Kansas of all places! It really shows how a tiny minority of loud-mouthed fascists and theocrats have managed to game the considerable flaws in the US Constitution in order to drag the vast majority of the population back toward the Dark Ages.
Watching the tube. Looks as if
Kansas, a longtime GOP stronghold,
has overwhelmingly voted in favor of
a woman's right to choose to
terminate an unwanted pregnancy.
This extreme minority rule can't last forever. Reform or revolution. One or the other. Let's get it done.
@philokalia saidCall it "body sovereignty", if you please.
Oh, keep infanticide legal?
How noble.
The Republic of Gilead is your ideal society, yeah?
The entire point here is that most of the population prefers having a voice in what happens to your body.
Alito can't drag us ALL back to the 1600s.
@philokalia said"Infanticide" is the murder of born living babies; not the removal of an egg with a sperm-cell in it. At least speak the truth with facts; Mr. Noble.

Must be another guy who wants
the government to leave 'em alone,
except when it comes to their bedrooms,
their bodies, their schools, their churches,
who they can marry or their union jobs.
Yup, small government indeed.........
@KingDavid403
There is a faction of the ultrareligious right that would ban even contraceptives and in vitro fertilization and deny the right for a 10 yo rape or incest victim getting pregnant or no matter if the life of the woman is in serious danger if going to full term.
They are just plain crazy whacko.
For instance, the incest version goes directly against genetics, all you have to do to see the results of incest is to look at some of the British royalty.
Those people are just plain nuts, no thinking allowed.
@jimm619 saidI'll put an end to the idea that a woman's body belongs to her... Nazi ideals demand that the practice of abortion shall be exterminated with a strong hand.

Yes, Kansas is red, but they know what they want. Obviously blue states will have no problem. Other red states may be
as reasonable as Kansas, I suspect. It will be a while for the states and americans to adjust, but it will be Ok in the end. IMO

Let us hope so. I'd love to see this issue kill any GOP dreams of regaining control of the Senate or House.
