It is predicted that Labour will win the Glasgow East bye-election.
No wonder since this constituency has the largest number of persons living on 'welfare' benefits at the taxpayers' expense in the UK.
A client voting population created by Labour politicians to maintain themselves in Office.

They don't do it for long though.
Apparently, in East Glasgow, life expectancy goes down to 53.9 years in the Calton ward

The Calton ward isn't in Glasgow East constituency.

But details like this never get in the way of Narg's rants.

Does he expect poor people to vote for the tories then???

Well, considering the amount of seats the Tories win in the whole of Scotland, Glasgow East isn't that much of an exception now, is it?

And given that more than half the constituencies across the UK are Labour-held, his basic idea doesn't really stand up at all (so no change there).

That constituency is the heartland of Labour but it is just as degraded and devastated as it was 11 years ago before Labour took over and threw the taxpayers' hard-earned money at it.

If it is no better or worse now than when Labour came to power, it is hardly a client electorate which labour created, is it?

How would a 'godless commie' government like the SSP deal with this state of affairs given that it were to be elected?

Well, to start with, an SSP government wouldn't necessarily be godless, and would probably contain people who weren't communists.

But the basic problem in places like Glasgow East is lack of resources. While you say that the Labour government (or the SNP one we have now) have thrown taxpayers money at these kind of areas, this is simply not the case.

There are so many problems to deal with - health, education, literacy, housing, transport, drugs - that there isn't an overnight fix.

But, in a nutshell, an SSP government would have much more resources to spend in these kind of places, because we'd have changed the tax regime, healthcare would be properly funded, as would education.

It would also be much more beneficial to work rather than stay on benefits - we'd have a minimum wage of at least £8, for everyone.

Also, public transport would be free, which breaks down the isolation of these peripheral estates.

No simple solution - just radical, redistributive policies.
