I think of all of the memes that revolve around the fact that the prohibition and the war on drugs failed. It should also be understood that this was largely due to robust privacy laws -- laws that, I am sure, many of us are utterly unwilling to remove.
But I prefer the more philosophical approach and side with Plato when he said that good laws do not make bad men good, and bad laws do not make good men bad.
