Hello folks: If I recall Donald Trump was issued at least 1 congressional subpoena to testify during his impeachment trial, he essentially ignored it, and told Congress to go pound sand. So, my question is: Does a congressional subpoena mean anything at all, or is it just another blue law, such as spitting on the sidewalk?
@mchill saidIf you really just want info from 2 people, just send them a pm.
Dear Mr. dood - I don't recall asking you anything. After several decades in the business world, I learned if you're not a lawyer, don't try to be one. Maybe you and Mr. corn pone singer on your YouTube clip should consider doing the same.
Public threads anyone will respond and rightfully so.

@no1marauder saidLast I heard, the two Republicans (Cheney and Kinzinger) in the House committee to investigate the insurrection want to see Trump subpoenaed to explain why he sent the crowd to the Capitol to circumvent the Constitution.

@suzianne saidthe crowd was trying to get the constitution upheld...pence should not have validated an unlawful election, it was the last chance constitutionally. many states violated their own laws.

and Trump didnt send anyone anywhere. nice lie though. Like the lies told during the opening of the hearing...7 people killed is a lie, it is against the law to lie in a congressional hearing. No one with the balls to hold anyone to account except Trump. You and people you are destroying our country.

@mott-the-hoople said"Constitution upheld"? Not even someone as ignorant of the Constitution as you can possibly believe that the Framers intended the Vice-President to be the sole, unreviewable judge of an election's result that he would usually be a candidate in! Even someone as conservative as Pence couldn't abide by such a ridiculous assertion.

Trump, his election committee and the Republican party had ample opportunity to contest the election in Federal courts. They lost every substantive case, a number in front of judges Trump appointed. Elections are not made "unlawful" just because your preferred candidate lost, Mott.
The mob on January 6th did precisely what Trump desired.

@no1marauder saidyou might want to study up yourself… pence did not give anyone a chance to object…the lawful process clearly provides for that. 11 Republican senators were going to object.

The vice president becomes the president
of the senate during this process.
And yes, depending on the vote count, declares himself a winner or a loser. Al Gore had to declare himself a loser.
You need to study up on this before commenting further…you are exposing your ignorance.

Situations such as this is why I am forced to say you are lying.
I never said pence had the “sole power” to do anything. If you cant be truthful just shut up.

@vivify saidare you really stupid enough to think these two are anything other than googlers?
Question for No1 or Sh76: can Trump be criminally charged for inciting a riot on the capitol or are his actions as president immune from prosecution?
Simply put: a sitting U.S. president can't be charged with a crime; but are crimes committed while president prosecutable?
