you might want to study up yourself… pence did not give anyone a chance to object…the lawful process clearly provides for that. 11 Republican senators were going to object.

The vice president becomes the president
of the senate during this process.
And yes, depending on the vote count, declares himself a winner or ...[text shortened]... a loser.

You need to study up on this before commenting further…you are exposing your ignorance.
Trump claimed exactly that power for Pence, so why don't you stop lying?;

"Trump’s remarks came just after Pence sent a letter to members of Congress affirming he cannot reject Electoral College votes, as Trump has falsely claimed.

“It is my considered judgement that my oath to support and defend the Constitution constrains me from claiming unilateral authority to determine which electoral votes should be counted and which should not,” Pence wrote."

You are also lying about "pence did not give anyone a chance to object." He most certainly did, but no Senators would join with any House members challenging the results in Michigan and Nevada as required by the statute you cited. Josh Hawley did join in the objection to Pennsylvania's results, but it was rejected 92-7 by the Senate. https://www.cbsnews.com/live-updates/electoral-college-vote-count-biden-victory/

Next time don't try to bluff with such transparent falsehoods.

EDIT: An objection to Arizona's results by Ted Cruz and Paul Gosar was also shot down: "The Senate rejected the objection 93-6, and the House rejected it 303-121. "

The House impeachment managers "requested" Trump testify at the impeachment trial, but did not subpoena him. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/different-court-trump-s-silence-his-senate-impeachment-trial-can-n1256957
Americans always pussy-foot around their presidents. Like they’re some sort of half-God or something.

They’re just rich politicians and deserve to be treated like the trash most politicians are; with general disdain, cynicism and at most the respect you’d offer anyone else you don’t know personally.

Even ex-presidents get called “Mr. President” on talkshows and such.
Bloody ridiculous.

The president’s name is Joe Biden. In any official matter he should be referred to as Mr. Biden. In any non-official matter (so talkshows, the media, etc. ) he should be referred to as Joe.

Only when you’re talking about his job, do you refer to him in third person: the president.

And yes, judges, people with masters degrees, etc. receive from me the exact same treatment.
And don’t get me started on lords and ladies.

Bloody nonsense.

there are no any attorney's here ...mr gullible. do you really think an attorney would waste time on a fruitless message board when they could be making hundreds per hour?

There were no others, so why mention things that are imaginary?

Moreover, since any objection would have had to been sustained by a vote of both houses of Congress, there was never any chance the election could be overturned in that manner. That is why Trump and his crazy sycophants were asserting the ridiculous claim that the Vice-President could unilaterally refuse to accept EC results certified by the States; it was their only, if blatantly illegal and unconstitutional, hope.

Question for No1 or Sh76: can Trump be criminally charged for inciting a riot on the capitol or are his actions as president immune from prosecution?

Simply put: a sitting U.S. president can't be charged with a crime; but are crimes committed while president prosecutable?
A President can be charged with crimes committed while in office after he leaves it.

That is why Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon.

IS it acceptable to swear in a witness to take the witness stand when you KNOW he will commit perjury?

I don't know. Maybe we should ask Trump, who definitely and personally will?
