@averagejoe1 saidDon't expect the usual crowd here to even read it, it doesn't fit their view of the universe.
Anybody else? Tough to read and realize, I know.......
But anything positive about Biden, no matter how untrue, and they'll eat it up and brag on it for months.
@averagejoe1 saidTrump's accomplishments, Yeah, let's see now.
Anybody else? Tough to read and realize, I know.......
1. Scared Kim Jong Un so shirtless, that N. Korea had even more missiles and nuclear warheads when Trump left office. Check.
2. Scared Iran so shirtless that they were well on the way to having weapons-grade uranium when Trump left office. Check.
3. Threatened not to defend NATO against Russia, fawned all over Putin and gave Putin a green light to expand his reach by invading a neighboring country. Check.
4. Handed Israel Jerusalem on a platter and gave Israelis a green light to build more settlements on occupied lands, thereby stoking yet more resentment and hatred of Israel. Check.
5. Built 458 miles of border wall, and mis-appropriated 15 billion dollars of military budget to do it. "The vast majority of the 458 miles were constructed in places where some kind of barrier already existed, but most of the preexisting structures were far less imposing than the new wall and included fencing and rudimentary technical barriers. The total figure also includes what the agency calls “secondary border wall” or sections of wall built behind preexisting barriers that ultimately remained in place." Mexico did not pay a red cent of it.
https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2022-02-07/how-much-of-president-donald-trumps-border-wall-was-built
Check.
Yup, that's some legacy, all right.
@sonhouse saidHahahahahahahaha. You and Suzianne win the trophy for dissing the Source of linked info! And are you aware of how many sources there are? And, hmmmmm, why does CNN not ever mention his plethora of accomplishments. This one, that I have never heard of, knocks his accomplishments out of the park!!!!! You lose on this particular skirmish. Hell, you may decide to vote for him. Remember, you don't have to like him, I prob don't either.
@AverageJoe1
Trump whitehouse archives. Sure, SO unbiased.
https://www.mcleancountyrepublicans.org/trump_administration_accomplishments
@moonbus
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/11/opinion/fact-check-trump.html
Let's see some reality here.
For one thing, he left us with an increase in national debt of 7 TRILLION.
He has blood on his hands by the thousands for ignoring the Covid pandemic.
He ripped babies from the arms of moms on the border and put 5000 of them in cages and nearly ten of those kids DIED.
He used Bill Barr as his personal attorney, JUMP Bill, How high sir? Till Bill could take it no longer.
He demanded personal loyalty, kiss my ring or you are out. He asked Comey to be loyal to Donald Trump and Comey said my loyalty is to the constitution, and two days later he was fired.
Funny those archives don't mention a word about his fraud cases already done, fines of 25 MILLION for Trump University and Trump Charity which were frauds proven in court.
Nor a word about all those witch hunts of his total innocence on all those 91 charges.
Not a word about his failed business, 4 bankruptcies, couldn't keep a casino in the black because of his incompetence in business.
Laughed at when he gave a speech to the United Nations.
Sucking up to Putin in Helsinki in the most embarrassing display of ignorance in POTUS history.
In love with NK dictator, love letters back and forth.
Killed the top Iranian general when his advisors like Israel said it was a bad idea.
Those are just some of the crap Trump pulled I can recall off the top of my head.
@averagejoe1 saidSo I looked at it, some of the things were counted more than once. (e.g. job sector)
https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/trump-administration-accomplishments/
Get a large cup of your latte'
Soem of the things ocuured, there is no connection to any policy decision.
Why "Home prices hit an all time high" should be an accomplishment is absolutely unclear (that happens regularly, it is called "inflation" and it is maybe good for real estate agents, but certainly not for the population.
@averagejoe1 saidA lot of those points have been discussed on this site, so this is just a rehash. But let's look at one:
https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/trump-administration-accomplishments/
"convinced China to enact strict regulations to control the production and sale of fentanyl."
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-china-fentanyl/trump-accuses-chinas-xi-of-failing-to-halt-fentanyl-exports-to-u-s-idUSKCN1US1WI/
President Donald Trump on Thursday accused his Chinese counterpart of failing to meet promises to stem a deluge of the synthetic opioid fentanyl into the United States, after months of praising Chinese President Xi Jinping for his pledges.
"My friend President Xi said that he would stop the sale of fentanyl to the United States - this never happened and many Americans continue to die," Trump said in a tweet.
China may have initially agreed to slow fentanyl but it never happened. Trump admitted this in 2019, yet released this article in January of 2021, his last full month as president. This means one of Trump's last acts as president was to release a list lying to Americans.
@AverageJoe1
How about the Chips bill, getting new cleanrooms here in the US?
How about getting big Pharm to cut the price of insulin to 35 bucks where it was hundreds before even though it cost maybe ten bucks to manufacture.
Passing the infrastructure bill badly needed by ALL of America which Trump found it impossible to do even though he OWNED congress.
First POTUS in American history to actually stand in line with Union picketers.
First POTUS to go to a war zone and hug bereaved victims of Hamas terrorists.
Yeah, all that stuff, totally worthless.
Compare that to Trump throwing paper towels at hurricane victims like that early mafia dude in the Godfather film putting dollar bills in the religious procession.
Here's another claim from the list:
"China lifted its ban on poultry, opened its market to beef, and agreed to purchase at least $80 billion of American agricultural products in the next two years."
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/bans-us-poultry-shipments-persist-even-bird-flu-cases-subside-2023-07-27/
U.S. poultry producers say they face prolonged economic pain from avian flu despite going months without infections in flocks, as China and some smaller importers fail to lift trade bans implemented during the nation's worst-ever outbreak of the virus.
As of 2023, the ban still hasn't been lifted.
I don't get how this list can be posted on a government website without any fact checking. But it's filled with lies and innacuracies.
@averagejoe1 saidThere's also a lot of nonsense claims from the list:
https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/trump-administration-accomplishments/
- Fixed the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) steam electric and coal ash rules.
- Small business optimism broke a 35-year old record in 2018.
- Manufacturing optimism nearly doubled.
How do you measure "optimism"?
What does Trump mean by he "fixed" the EPA rules? Does he mean when he overturned them altogether to allow businesses to dump waste into streams?
This entire list is shameful.
