The US SC held in 1989 that burning the US flag as a protest is permissible under the First Amendment as an expression of free speech.
We're not the only country that values free speech, you know.

Baffles me, you’d think the rainbow flag would be a common ground icon, but seemingly, like countries, every different group likes their own little flag.
The only flags I really think are acceptable are Canadian flags on backpackers backpacks. As one Canadian once explained to me: “It’s just to make sure people know I’m not American.”
