The Scotch are the inhabitants of Scotland according to the OED which does however mention that those inhabitants prefer to call themselves 'Scottish'.
I was referring to the amount of goverment grant to the local authorities in Scotland and Wales as compared to those in England.
A high proportion of those living on various forms of government handouts are of 'ethnic' immigrant origin
Which presumably makes the other inhabitants of the UK the Engch, the Welch and (depending upon your own personal feelings) the Northern Irch.

Uh hu.

Your own personal feelings have nothing to do with it old chap, Northern Ireland is part of the UK, fact, like it or lump it. Long live Ulster and the Union!

That's true, but Northern Ireland does happen to be all of Ulster except Donegal, we wouldn't allow them in the union.

So when did Cavan and Monaghan become part of northern ireland?

Ulster is 9 counties.

This just shows the typical orange mentality - they don't even know what they are trying to 'defend'.

Make up your mind!
You thought they were part of the North in your previous post - the one about all of Ulster except Donegal being in northern ireland.

You're right about your ignorance though.

Ive tried to suggest to people from Donegal that theyre part of the north but they wouldnt have it. Even tho they sound like Gerry Adams and not from the "Nort Side" of Dublin.
