Lesson #2: Hating the Scapegoats
Under the authoritarian regime, you are expected to show hate for the Current Scapegoats.
The scapegoats will include any anti-Nazis, of course (these they will attempt to prosecute, usually failing.) But often other scapegoats will be a disadvantaged minority: poor immigrants; certainly ‘deviants’ (as defined by the regime) like gays or trans. Also, very often scholars and educated people (e.g. elites) are targeted because they don’t easily fall for the con, so in the eyes of the dictator they have to be removed and/or minimized.
The Scapegoats will be accused of ‘polluting the blood of the Fatherland’ and ‘destroying the country.’
The Nazis will promise to get rid of the scapegoats and thereby bring back ‘the good old days’ and ‘make the country great again’ - but this is also a lie. The goal of the Nazi regime is to create a new and different state with nationalistic rallies and parades, slogans, quasi-religious fervor rather than intellectualism, and people proclaiming their unwavering ‘support’ for the ‘Dear Leader.’
More important, any attempt to criticize ‘Dear Leader’ is scorned as ‘hatred’ or ‘sickness’ (woke mind virus; TDS) in an attempt to convince others never to say anything bad about the dictator. This technique works on the weak-minded.
Adding a dash of religion gives the Nazi endeavor a ‘holy’ flavor which appeals to many - but this is done for appearance and is only skin-deep. In no case can moral tenets be allowed to stop what the Nazis want to do. Smaller, fanatical religious groups are easier to co-opt to create this facade, as opposed to established churches that might try to gainsay the regime’s more extreme impulses.
Conclusion: Nazis are not conservatives because they are not trying to ‘conserve’ anything. They are extremists absolutely intent on changing the nation’s culture into one they approve of, with no regard for what the majority wants.
@spruce112358 saidSo far the only people who appear to be suffering or who are in line for suffering, or who are going to be forced to change their stupid lifestyle, are:

- illegal immigrants, past present and future
- those who support WOKE, DEI or BLM, or in any way were connected, or who received money or benefits of any kind, from organisations set up to support these groups
- trans people and other members of the LGBTQ++ types who were not content with living their lives quietly, but paraded their perversion for all to see.
- terrorists and their supporters
- fake organisations like UNRWA, corrupt ones like WHO
- Jew- haters like ICJ
- countries that received grants and aid from the US for a specific purpose and instead placed these funds in the bank of corrupt politicians and their families
If these are the majority then something is sadly wrong with the other side of the fence. Many stand to benefit from the Trump presidency though. Maybe what is eating you out is that you are not one.
@Rajk999 saidGovernment exists to protect all our rights equally. π
Many stand to benefit from the Trump presidency though.
'Many will benefit'? It's not the President's job to produce benefits for some. I don't vote for a President based on what I personally plan to get back.
It is somewhat hilarious that Trump has no plans to do his job, and that We The People have utterly failed to hold him accountable for his past crimes.
Perhaps as Ben Franklin observed, we cannot keep this republic going. Not at this rate, anyway. It will take a lot more people DOING things to keep it. π
@spruce112358 saidUhh, is this you, Sonhouse?

@spruce112358 saidWhat utter nonsense. It is impossible to protect all rights equally. Trump on the campaign trail promised in no uncertain terms what he is going to do if he is elected and the people voted for him. Clearly he has the support of the people. In the list I provided, apparently you believe that - illegal immigrants, WOKE, DEI or BLM, - trans people and other members corrupt ones like WHO, - Jew- haters like ICJ, and corrupt governments, all deserve to be treated equally.

just about did it for spruce
@Rajk999 saidNo it's not impossible. Clarifying for you: The US government exists to protect the rights of all individuals who are on US soil equally. π

Illegal immigrants - Yes. All individuals on US soil are granted some rights protection, which is decision we have made as a nation.
Woke, dei, blm, trans - Sure. US citizens.
Why on US soil only? Because it's too expensive to protect rights beyond our borders.
Why equally? Because all persons are created equal and are endowed with certain inalienable rights.
Why not protect the rights of the WHO, ICJ, and foreign governments? Because those are not individuals on US soil.
This is all very simple, basic stuff @Rajk999. Trump's promises are meaningless in the face of the US Constitution.
@Rajk999 saidThis right wing circle jerking will soon end as Trump increasingly pursues policies most Americans abhor.

How do you think his pardoning of his political supporters who beat police with baseball bats and hockey sticks and sprayed chemical agents in their face will play on Main Street USA?
@no1marauder saidNobody cares. Who did Biden pardon? He pardoned over 8000 people in his 4 yr term... who cares. So it appears that typical Americans, including Democrats are fine with Trump. Of course you have a few nutcase instigators [like your type] who have to say something to make themselves relevant but overall because of the crackdown on illegal immigration, cutting off DEI and other nonsense departments etc, people are happy. Not seeing too much anti-Trump news.

"On the issue of pardoning participants in the Jan. 6 Capitol riots, public sentiment is overwhelmingly against doing so. Only 2 in 10 Americans support pardoning the rioters, while 6 in 10 oppose it, including half who are strongly opposed."

@moonbus saidWith a start like this, which I stated earlier ....

I say its going to be bumpy for those who deserve it.
