Wrong. What we deserve is good government which protects all our rights equally. That's what we pay taxes for. 😆
Right .. what you deserve is what the people voted for. Take a back seat now and enjoy the show.

Nothing perhaps illustrates the general disintegration of political life better than this vague, pervasive hatred of everybody and everything, without a focus for its passionate attention, with nobody to make responsible for the state of affairs—neither the government nor the bourgeoisie nor an outside power. It consequently turned in all directions, haphazardly and unpredictably, incapable of assuming an air of healthy indifference toward anything under the sun.

The Origins of Totalitarianism by Hannah Arendt, 1951

We didn't vote to change our rights. We voted for who would protect them. 😆

We can, in principle, change our rights protection through legislation or Constitutional amendments. That's not what we did in November. We just picked the next employee to do the job ALL government employees do: protect all our rights equally.

If he doesn't do that... well, we shall see. 😆

Senior Russian diplomat Rodion Miroshnik has accused Ukraine of committing "language-based genocide," citing alleged orders for troops to kill Russian speakers in Kursk.
Russian officials have condemned the incident as a massacre and accused Ukraine of embodying terrorism and neo-Nazism.

But nothing any Russian official says can be believed. 😆

Russia has spent over 70 years PROVING to the world that they are inveterate liars - they are PROUD of it. They brag about how nothing they say is anything other than self-serving manipulation.

So post an NPR, BBC, or even Al Jazeera investigative story about how Ukraine is a dictatorship and I'll read it.

Russia has lost any and all credibility, so today the best approximation to the truth is exactly the opposite of what they assert. 😆

All nations should join NATO. 😆

NATO's Article 5 is a working, immediately implementable guarantee of world peace. Russia has no reason so oppose the expansion of NATO - and in fact, Russia should join NATO as they offered to do in 1954. NATO should replace the United Nations (an unelected body with serious issues) and cover the entire world. So there can never be an apology for expanding NATO.

James Baker, in his view, may have thought that NATO would not expand - or he might have been lying. There are a few people in the world that lie. Some prove later to have been only mistaken.

Like WMDs? You are a joke.

There have been liars in US government: Bush (WMDs), Reagan (Iran-Contra), Trump (Election). Seems like they are usually .... Republican. Funny. 😆

But the difference between the US and Russia is that US lying is rarer because it is more difficult because of free elections, transparency, leaks and investigative media. Russian lying faces no such checks, so it is institutional and non-stop.

One interesting thing about Joe Biden is that he only lied once to the American people, and that was pardonable because he did it to protect his son from maniac. There was no damage to America with that action.

And the thing about Bush's lie about WMD, I view that as bad judgement. It was NOT a mistake to get rid of Saddam Hussein because it is NEVER a mistake to get rid of a dictator. Saying 'we need a dictator to prevent civil was' is not a valid reason. Get rid of the dictator, have your civil war, and then get on with establishing democratic government. 😆

Which is what Iraq is doing, although they are clearly not done yet.

It certainly wasn't Bush's fault that lots of Iraqis had pent up resentment and wanted to kill each other. People have to let that sort of thing out. Yes, LOTS of bad outcomes followed, but that was on them.

So the lie over WMDs - meh. It was a white lie, more acceptable to the American public than the ideological purity of establishing democracy. But we chose to involve ourselves in Gulf War I, so we had a duty to finish it off.

Should have been a lesson to us. We could have avoided the whole Iraq (Second Gulf) War by going to Bagdhad in 1991. We didn't learn from it, though. 😆

Or "Read my lips. No new taxes." 😆

Politicians talk so much, there are bound to be slip-ups. When I switched to ACA, I did keep my doctor, so it was true for me.

Lying is when someone KNOWS a thing is untrue. Like calling someone up to ask them to 'find' votes because they lost.

That's lying. 😆

And Bill Clinton didn't inhale or have sexual relations with that woman.
Both parties lie equally. Just admit it.

I dunno but that was none of our business. The question never should have been asked; so his answer was irrelevant. 😆

If you have an employee (e.g. The President is employed by We The People), you are concerned about him lying to you about his work, not about recreational activities or family matters that have nothing to do with his job.

So the lying is nowhere close to equal. Repubs have lied and continue to lie far more about relevant public matters than Dems. 😆
