limits to presidential pardon power?

Is there any specific line that a president could cross with regard to pardon power that would elicit bipartisan condemnation? If this isn't a bribe for getting oneself out of prison, I don't know what is.

Between 2016 and 2019 he withheld more than $10 million from the paychecks of the nurses, doctors and others who worked at his facilities under the pretext of using it for their Social Security, Medicare and federal income taxes. Instead, he used some of the money to buy a $2 million yacht... He raised millions for Trump's campaign and his mom attended a $1million -per-plate fundraising dinner for trump 3 weeks before he was pardoned.

In any other time, a sleazy con man criminal bribing the president to avoid jail time would be a big deal.

OMG another one in the same daaang day??!! Trump raking in the dough to pardon convicted fraudsters. If you're rich, white and vote red, bank robbery is ok.

The only thing than can be done in response to a corrupt pardon is impeachment.

The likelihood of that occurring with Trump no matter what he does with the current Republican party is near zero.

“Is there any specific line that a president could cross with regard to pardon power that would elicit bipartisan condemnation”

yes, being mentally incompetent and pardons given that you have no knowledge of should render all pardons under your admin invalid.

Trymps issued 1,700 pardons so you're saying if he doesn't remember the names then the pardons are invalid?

Go look up the term “ mentally incompetent”

Then look up the word “memory”

Holler back when you can connect the two

The distinction without a difference again. Knowledge vs. memory is silly semantics.

Is trump mentally incompetent or just simply evil?

Trump just pardoned two people who committed the same crimes he did: bank fraud, and tax evasion.

This speech, good Lord πŸ˜…
“Over the course of a decade, the defendants defrauded banks out of tens of millions of dollars while evading payment of their federal income taxes” said U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan. “Their lengthy sentences reflect the magnitude of their criminal scheme and should serve as a warning to others tempted to exploit our nation’s community banking system for unlawful personal gain.”

As this sentencing proves, when you lie, cheat, and steal, justice is blind to your fame, fortune, and position,” said Keri Farley, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta. “The FBI is proud to work with our law enforcement partners at the IRS and the U.S. Attorney's office to pursue and prosecute individuals that are driven by greed to evade the law.”

“The Chrisleys defrauded financial institutions and the Federal Government through tax evasion and other fraudulent means in an effort to minimize their tax liability, but project an image of wealth,” said James E. Dorsey, Special Agent in Charge, IRS Criminal Investigation, Atlanta Field Office. “This sentencing serves notice that no matter a person’s celebrity status, there are severe consequences for defrauding the American tax system.”

Actually, justice is not blindto your fame and money. Just take out a bunch of fake loans, buys some cars and houses but save a little bit of your scammed money to grease the palm of the president of the United States.
