His words were obnoxious and disrespectful. He catered to Christian Identity white nationalism.
He should not have been killed for it.
Quote his words that you feel this way about
@shavixmir - People should not be shot. The mere fact I’m saying this is proof your society’s broken.
Yes, you are more objective since you don't live here.
Leftits in America do not want the death penalty or guns. But they will shoot and kill a conservative for speaking.
Very broken

@vivify saidI hadn't heard of him either. He had a huge fan base though. People really liked him. I think it was a lot more entertainment than politics though.
Near the end of the summer last year, he was assassinated. I had never heard of Charlie Kirk prior to his death, though I did hear about Turning Point (which he founded) because I used to be Christian.
Two issues:
1) I kept hearing after his death that he was a misogynist, racist, etc. I tried for a long time to find his most offensive comments and honestly couldn't ...[text shortened]... criminals from owning them, etc.
In light of Kirk's death: shouldn't his words be reevaluated?
Several on here described him as a master debater, and an eloquent speaker. However, when asked to provide a quote or clip that best exemplifies these qualities, they could not find one. The argument that he was a good debater fell apart in light of the fact that his debate subjects were children 15 years younger than him and his responses were full of misogyny, strawmen, and factually inaccurate descriptions of liberal politics.
People liked him because he was good at putting lipstick on a pig. But it was their pig.
@Earl-of-Trumps saidWe do fear white nationalists, true, especially in political power.
@vivify - I'm trying to understand what could motivate someone to actually want to kill him.
They feared him. He represented a soon-to-be powerful leader and democrats can't stand repubs being in power.

@wildgrass saidHis debates were more performance art than logical discourse. He had clearly well-rehearsed responses that while based on fallacies, were used against people who didn't have a crowd-pleasing rebuttal prepared.

Every single Kirk debate could be shredded on this forum when you have a moment to consider the argument; but live debates are about quick-witted one-liners and crowd reaction. Here, he excelled against people much less experienced in debates, especially since many of them were impromptu exchanges with people who did know they'd be debating.
What I will give him is that he's typically quite polite in his debates and generally doesn't talk over his opponents. He was unflappable with keeping his cool even when his opponent doesn't.
