@Wajoma
My riding lawn mower dam near emulsifies the leaves, I think that makes for better fertilization for next year, but regardless, I don't have to do any leaf blowing or raking and putting into garbage bags. I have a LOT of leaves come autumn.
I guess it is a republican thing to bitch about ancient technology, luddites who can't stand improved way to do lawns or much of anything else I guess.
I guess it is not manly enough if a machine doesn't emit toxic smoke or burns fuel inefficiently, those emasculating battery powered monsters, DEMOCRAT MACHINES.
We want FREEDOM.
@sonhouse saidYep, my mower and my chainsaw (a little one, a normal sized one is too big) are both electric. Good thing, too, I never knew that about having to mix oil into the gas.
@shavixmir
It's liquid. Regular gasoline but for a two stroke engine it has to have oil added to the gasoline to lube the engine since there is no oil pump or oil flowing inside, lubrication is done ONLY by the burning gas/oil mixture which is why the damn things smoke and they are notoriously unreliable. I converted my chainsaw to battery and my weed whacker to battery, MU ...[text shortened]... nd maybe not, depending on what planet is showing I guess, Venus, it runs, Mars, it takes time off🙂
@phranny saidI'll have to think about this. It was still hot here going into November, so not sure what the season is here for those little guys.
Actually, you are destroying nesting invertebrates. Better to leave a thin layer of leaves on the lawn and rake excess into beds or a spot where the lea es can remain till early spring.
@sonhouse saidI've been using an electric chainsaw around my property longer than you sunstroker, 20 years?

But I don't mind the exercise of running a lead from a plug in the house, then winding it back up again, no toxic batteries to replace, no MINE MINE MINE for poisonous battery chemicals, no toxic batteries that only last 4/5 years at most. The same single phase lead, the same chainsaw*** with maybe a bit of additional insulation tape here and there to stop the majic pixies escaping.
If you were true to your warped luddite religion you'd mow your lawn with a scythe. But not a scythe made from MINE MINE MINED iron ore, because you know what's used in the production of steel right, hold on to the top of your head, here it comes, c o a l (coal turned into coke by heating it to 1250 degrees C in the absence of oxygen) . No no no, your scythe will have a blade made from crushed slater beetle shells glued together with spit and tied onto a piece of tree carcass with woven spiders web.
***a chainsaw, like yours, made from MINE MINE MINED materials and DRILL DRILL DRILLED hydrocarbon plastics.
@Wajoma
There is nothing wrong with using drilled oil for industrial materials, it is using them for fuel for transport or electric plants that is the problem since that would be 90% of the use of fossil fuels. If we had renewables all along and only used oil for industry instead of fuel the entire planet would be thanking us. As it is right now, we are in the beginning of the next major age of extinctions but I guess that doesn't matter to the likes of you does it?
@sonhouse saidbetter act fast…only ten years left

@Mott-The-Hoople
And OF COURSE, you being a card carrying Trumpite cultist, we need Trump to be dictator in chief so we can start pumping coal into our power stations again so we can quicken the day when Florida disappears due to the rising oceans.
YOU are a big part of the problem, along with all your OTHER cultists who have lost the ability to think for themselves, or maybe they didn't have much in the way of brains in the first place.
@sonhouse saidDid you ever comment on John zKerry flying jet fuel plane around every day preaching Climate Control?!?!?!?!?

No, you didn’t, and you wont, Sonhouse, because I have nailed you once again.
@AverageJoe1
Oh right, since Kerry flew in a jet that means the entire climate change caused by mankind is false, nothing to see here, go back home folks and be happy,
At least till Florida starts disappearing......
@sonhouse saidIt's a valid point, we've got pollies, bureauRats and movie actors FFS all telling us one thing but doing the opposite. You see what happens sunstroker when they do that they cast doubt on all the other panic peddlars such as yourself.

Shouldn't you be contacting Maldives goobermint tell them not to build an airport but invest in a huge life jacket they can wrap around their WHOLE island.

@sonhouse saidNo no no…..you once again miss the point, which is hypocrisy. If you were honest you would say the man rains carbon into the atmosphere while telling the world not to…..he is a doggone hypocrite. What is wrong with you people that you cannot do that.

Let’s try this….Yesterday Biden said the rich should “….pay their fair share of taxes”
Sonhouse, Biden is a hypocrite because his very son will not pay his fait share of taxes.
What do you say to this?
And could tell us what your first sentence above means?
The reason for the bans is not the gas or the oil or the leaves.
It's the noise and air pollution. Sound waves penetrating walls. Small bits of leaf litter and dust caught in the lungs, permanent tinnitus after dogwalking past a leaf cleanup crew etc. They are a public nuisance. Good luck on the enforcement of these laws, though. Landscapers are sneaky.
