So you're saying that Macs are for the creative and dynamic computer Übermensch, while PCs are for the common herd who wallow in their bland mediocrity? OK, I can go with that.

Now which would you rather have, a $5 cup of poison, or a $50 filet? I'll let you ponder the price thing a little more.

I'm sitting at my desk right now doing several things - including writing this.
I'm writing a paper for some students, I've just sent some emails, and I'm doing some web searches.
None of these are suffering because I'm using a PC.
Am I one of the mindless masses you spoke of earlier - or words to that effect?
Maybe, but who cares. I'm doing what I need to do.
A Mac would not help any of these work any faster or better or easier.

The sheer anger seething from your post bears this out. If you had a Mac, you'd be happy all the time. People might like you better, too. But then again...

I use both Mac and PCs extensively. The only reason I bought a Mac was to run Pro Tools in my home recording studio.
As far as creative stuff (i.e. recording and graphic design stuff that my girlfriend does), Mac is in a league of its own.
However, I find the PC easier to use for work related tasks (i.e. Excel, Outlook etc). And games on a Mac really struggle.
Basically, it comes down to personal preference for most people (unless you need it for creative stuff). And just for the record, my Mac has crashed on occasion which I thought would never happen.

Actually, come to think of it, I'm NOT worried about which computer I use.
For me, a computer is a device to do something else - that is, a tool.
If you need a computer to make your life complete or feel joy or whatever all power to you. I have sex and family and good food and a nice film and surfing on a clean wave to do these things for me.
