Male Powerlifting Coach Breaks Women’s Record to Protest ‘Trans Inclusion Policy
Avi Silverberg, head coach for Team Canada Powerlifting, “self-identified” as a woman and broke the provincial record in Alberta, Canada, for women’s bench press in the heaviest weight class to protest the growing penetration of men competing in women’s sports via “transgender” policies.

My prediction - Marathons will be next.

@earl-of-trumps saidSave your typing. We will lose. I have said it here for years. The libs with their new woke world will prevail, there is no turning back to normalcy. The trans people will infiltrate our society. It will be blasphemy to call the new world a society....I sure ain't part of that society. Used to be, though.

I disagree with trans women competing against cis women even though I fully support trans rights.
U.S. liberals get too emotional about the topic of trans sports and automatically equate valid concerns against it with hate. There's no reason a trans person can't be a politician, teacher, etc. Sports is a different beast and there's a reason why they're separated by biological sex.
Maybe one day trans procedures will progress to the point where trans athletes are indistinguishable from cis athletes but we're not there now.

Okay, let's dissect that for a moment.
What "trans right" to do you support that is currently at risk, if any?
As far as I can tell, there are basically three "trans rights" that are being fought over now:
1. The right of trans women to complete in women's sports.
2. The right of trans people to use rest rooms and showers not of their biological sex
3. The rights of minors to receive "gender-affirming care" (an Orwellian phrase if there ever was one) up to and including surgeries.
So you're on record as not supporting number 1. Do you support 2 and 3?
@sh76 saidI'm not sure on 3. So for now, no. 2 seems fine.

@sh76 saidI should also add that this process is much more involved than conservatives make it out to be. My wife's niece receives counseling regarding her gender identity. She wants to transition and has gone through months of counseling and evaluations for it, which is still ongoing.
The rights of minors to receive "gender-affirming care"
So it's not just "you wanna be a girl now? Cool, lemme grab this knife".

The main problem is the US is in the throws of an ultraright attack on just about everything we used to hold dear like the ability to cross state borders without state interference but even that is under attack now.
A law going forth in Idaho and the governor vowed to sign it is a law saying a minor crossing state lines to get an abortion in another state where it is legal will now make that kid a criminal and subject to 5 years in jail.
I guess they never heard of the 14th amendment.....
They don't take into account WHY that kid wants an abortion where they mention the rights of the guardian, and if it IS the guardian who raped the kid and now she does not want to be FORCED to bear the child of rape, no matter, we don't give a rats ass HOW she got pregnant, now that she is, she will be a FELON for the rest of her life.
Now just what kind of BULLSHYTE is that? And other zombie states passing laws making it illegal to even have access to abortion meds which is something like half of all abortions or the ASSSWIPE state, I think Tennessee where now they consider a fetus or whatever to be a viable human being from the date of CONCEPTION.
So have sex with some guy and now you can't even get rid of the fukking EGG which is just an egg with sperm entering.
What kind of ZOMBIE monsters are coming up with this crap that redefines the word Draconian?
@vivify saidSounds like you live in a community that is a bit more measured. It's not that way in all places.

@vivify saidWhen more lawsuits are filed like this one, the pendulum will swing on number 2.
I'm not sure on 3. So for now, no. 2 seems fine.
