Once an Amrican hero for hitting 70 home runs in one year, what have you become, Mark McGwire? Now retired, he showed up for congressional hearigs today and refused to answer questions. He did make a statement, but when asked questions he simply said he would not answer on the advice of his lawyer. What a bozo.

Ps: is that Dave Chappelle?

Here's what I don't get about this baseball stuff. If I made the money Mark McGwire makes and I don't have anything better to do than make a damn Hardee's commercial stuffing my face with food, why can't he be honest like these skinny ass geeks on this site that use drugs and tell the truth about it.

That's one lame excuse I heard anyway.

Dave Chappelle looks like his mouth is half his face in that pic. My favorite skit has by far been the racial draft. Fo shizzle.

well they haven't had a highly paid career as a consequence of their drug use
Originally posted by kirksey957My question is why is congress sticking their noses into the matter to begin with. While I don't agree with the use of steroids the drugs were not illegal at the time and if I was in their position as a professional athlete and the use of steroids got me a bigger paycheck i would be tempted to use them also. Congress should fix real problems with the country and mind their own damn business.

In 1972 there was exactly 1 player in the NFL who hit 300 lbs.
Big Daddy Lipscomb was his name. He weighed in at 302 and every tv broadcast we got to hear the announcers rave that he was thirty pounds bigger than anyone else on the field.
Now we have the average good highschool football lineman weighing in at over 300 lbs.
College about 310.
Professions about 340.
The only thing that has changed isn't the DNA of the human race.
You make an excellent point.

You know, the use of these was legal when I took them. I don't recommend them. They helped me hit more homeruns and get a bigger salary."
I'd appreciate their honesty.
