Is it possible, please, just once, for one damn governor or Senator in this country to keep it in his pants every once in a while? Am I really asking too much.

Why is it necessary for us to know these things?

I wonder how many American icons could have survived the type of media scrutiny so common today. I think we would have been screwed out of Jefferson, Washington and a host of others to our eternal detriment.

That's true; but these guys know about the obsessive 24/7 media and the need to generate 3 news cycles a day or whatever they're up to by now.

Knowing that, it's amazing these politicians still get caught so often with their pants down, so to speak.

are you actually asking if someone could stop having sex?

A better question is why do you americans care about other people's sex lives?

With a person that they're not married to when they're married and elected officials of conservative constituents?

Yes.

Not because I care about their sex lives or have a fundamental moral problem with adultery, but because it's so obviously such a dumb thing to do politically.

Yes...it is asking too much. I'd estimate over 60% of our esteemed U.S. Senators, and Goverors have jumped into bed with someone other than there own spouse. Sadly for the G O P, they are the one's that are getting caught most of the time. I guess this does not help there Christian pure, family values image... huh? Oh well, that's politics!!😏

It's only dumb politically because you americans think it means something. What is your obsession with the sex lives of your politicians?

Why care?

"That man slept with a hot 25 year old woman...therefore that must mean he can't decide if our town should get a new post office."

Is that the logic?

The biggest thing about these instances is that often people won't vote for a candidate who doesn't have "proper family values" - i.e. they have a wife and kids and they haven't been caught cheating yet.

So of course when they do get caught cheating people make a big deal about it.

The thing I find is funny is the hypocrisy of candidates campaining on "Family values" and being a "good family man" and then sleeping around.

It shows the man is a liar who betrays a sacred, intimate vow and hides it.

This is why I'm getting into polyamory. Lies suck.

Yes, it's logical.

It shows that the politician has neither to fortitude to withstand temptations that he knows he ought to withstand nor the judgment to avoid doing it when he knows it will anger his constituents.

I wouldn't say it's an enormous factor in determining who I'd vote for; but it's a factor.

Why does it even matter to voters if a politician has "family values"? How does having family values affect your ability to be a politician??

What temptations? By not sleeping with a hot Venuezulan woman, what temptations will he avoid in his duties as a politiician?

Shouldn't the real story be how a governor just left his post, with no one knowing were he was and without having given anyone the powers to act on his behalf in case of an emergency ? Cause that story is a bit more important as to what the governor was doing when he was away.

Maybe it wasn't the Framers' intent.
