I support the criminalization of coffee because I would not like my child to drink it.

It's pretty much the same thing.
I'll vote for you on that one. Coffe is evil, look what the multinationals have done to parts of the world to procur it. And lets not even get into why caffeine picks you up.(The body reacts to it as if it were a poison[which it is] and ups your metabolic rate so that you can process it and get rid of it.) So much for a pick me up.

Ban coffee and make it illegal. Once everyones nerves calm down the world will be a much better place for it.

No, I'm not saying that at all.

I'm addressing the point someone made that the FARC must be Marxists because they call themselves Marxists.
Now I'm really confused. Are you now saying Marxism gives FARC a bad name?

No, I'm not really making a point re the FARC, more a general point that, just because a group applies a term to themselves, doesn't make it an accurate description.

You can't just assume that a Labour party will represent the interests of Labour, or a Liberal party is in any way liberal, etc etc.

There are many organisations around the globe who declare themselves to be marxists, but are nothing of the kind.

That's an interesting point. Do you think FARC's followers know that they are not "authentic Marxists?"

I didn't say that the FARC and their followers weren't authentic Marxists.

So in other words, you don't know. Well, I have an opinion on FARC: Whenever you have kidnappers in your midst, the civil government should do everything in it's power to bring these evildoers to justice. Otherwise, if there are any men in Columbia, then they should do whatever is necessary to make sure the air they breathe isn't tainted by on-again, off-again Marxist drug pushers/kidnappers.

And another thing: If I was Betancourt's family, I'd put a bounty on the head of any FARC member brought in. I'd turn the game around and see how much they like it.

I think you're pin-pointing your most major flaw. You think everything revolves around you and your opinions.

And that's why you are wrong.

Isn't Guatanamo bay exactly the same as the FARC kidnapping someone?

Well, not exactly. The FARTs kidnap people and hold them for Ransom. I don't think we are kidnapping for that purpose. The US Supreme Court has just said that the people we kidnapped must be tried in American Courts.
Don't think the FARTs will be doing that and they have a 40 yr. head start on us. We give our kidnapees 3 hots and a cot and their own terlet, and airconditioning. FARTs tie you to a tree all day for the rest of your life. Your turn to spin the meaning of ransom. Yeah, i know, we torture and the FARTs don't.

GRANNY.
