Isn't it interesting that Leftists like AOC want to stop us from eating meat and now there are shortages looming?
Here is the most disturbing part of the article
Ben Lilliston, the interim co-executive director of the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, said the closure of these large meat processing facilities, and any resultant supply shortfalls, is what happens when a small number of multinational companies control the food supply.
“They have proprietary information about how much food is out there that no one else has,” he said. “In early March, there were a whole lot of stories about a surplus of meat. If they say it’s a shortage, maybe it is, but no one really knows.”
It is also interesting that Leftists like AOC wanted Americans to not travel by air anymore, and Leftists like Warren Buffet are dumping all their stock in airlines stating that it is a different world now.

@eladar saidAll I know is that corporate monsters like Amazon and WalMart are doing just fine and allowed to remain open, while other small businesses that are not deemed "essential" are closing for good.
@whodey
You know that there will be another 80k deaths in the US by August.
This hype is really getting old. 2 milliin deaths oh my.
False claim after false claim.
Hey we need to shut down businesses to protect the elderly.....
Throw covid people into retirement homes!
Soon the Left will have a monopoly of corporations controlling everything, like the Warren Buffet types and Bezos types and Gates types who all are ravenous democrats.
@whodey saidI find it really hysterical that right wingers support every single policy that favors huge corporations but now pretend they are anti-monopolist.

I recall debating Telerion years ago about the concentration in the meat processing industry which have now resulted in 4 companies owning 80% of processing capacity, mostly in huge plants. Of course, right wingers like whodey have always bitterly opposed any measures to prevent such corporate takeovers. Now, some of these huge plants have had to be shuttered because of massive outbreaks of the virus in them. So the problem has been exacerbated by laissez faire policies which form the backbone of right wing politics in the US.
@shavixmir saidI use the term "Leftists" to denote people who are pro big government and a monopoly of corporate control. Whether they have a big D or R by their name is insignificant.
“Leftists”.
A term only used by the moronic right.
For example, notice how Trump was front and center at every GOP debate during the nomination process, and how the media talked about him 24/7
This is not how someone is treated that the media does not want to win because as they say in show business, any media attention, whether good or bad, is good media attention.
This is how you are treated if they don't want anything to do with you. You are ignored.
Best bit Jon Steward ever did
@kazetnagorra saidYes, eating meat, traveling by air, being able to leave your home, all luxuries.
Oh no! Not supposedly, maybe "looming" temporary shortages of a luxury good!
We obviously don't need them.
@whodey saidSo you are making up your own definitions and applying them to people who obviously don't meet them.

@no1marauder saidYou call Trump and his supporters as right wing, yet he has single handedly incorporated a universal income, health care, Martial law, and massive debt with their approval.
So you are making up your own definitions and applying them to people who obviously don't meet them.
If this is right wing, I want nothing to do with any of it.
Trump is your New York City tool.
