Some feel good news for a change. Weird that this must be something noteworthy and not the obvious standard

No such thing as free zahlooney, someone has to pay and it's not the goobermint, more than likely parents are taxed to such an extent it's difficult to feed the kids, they then filter their money through a bunch of goobermint buratcracies with everyone of them taking their cut.

This is your tough love wake up lesson, goobermint can't give anything without taking it first, idealistic rose tinted glasses shattered.

It varies from state to state but most schools have been handing out free breakfast and lunch to kids for years if they qualify for low-income aid, and almost everyone qualifies.

Yes, and if your school is over a certain percentage free and reduced you can go all free.

This kind of nonsense is why we can't have nice things.

Well, you *can* have nice things, Suzi, but do you have to steal them?

Free school lunches is an excellent thing.
Besides many parents not having enough money to feed kids properly, there are many… MANY… parents who don’t know what a healthy diet is.

And the free school meal system makes sure kids get at least 5 healthy meals a week.
And generally it’s combined with classes on healthy food, etc.

Not just good for the kids, but in later life they have a better understanding of food, they’re generally healthier, etc.

Always reminds me of Jamie Oliver talking to mums at a schoolyard and the mum’s complaining about his healthy food campaign, with one of the mum’s saying: “My kid eats vegetables every day. He eats crisps for lunch!”

I would LOVE for Suzianne to expand on this comment in a normal conversational, non-ascerbic way. I dont know what she means, but I would like to know.

It's a standard suzi retort, she uses it randomly regardless of subject, it means as much as shag doodys gormless inane single emoji posts, which I think (no way I'm going to check this), comprise 30% of his posts now, a development we are very grateful for given the alternative.

If she steals something I recommend you call the police.
