Mitt's "Binders Full of Women"

Debates

It was a no win situation for Romney, whatever way he would respond. The libs just get "pissy" over a single word. An executive would indeed have potential employees dosiers included in either folders or binders or even in a box, maybe even loose (imagine the libs outrage over that: "loose women"😉. The liberal crowd should get their collective heads out of each others asses and see the real world for a change.

Many countries, especially in Europe, have paid parental leave for the father.

I have had binders full of women when I was younger, kept a full file on each one that was in play at the time, made for excellent sport when compared to binder contents of my buddies. To judge the winner, you had to consider the number of women, their ages, looks rated 1-10, and an assigned star-count (1-5 stars) of how good they were in the sack. Quite complicated when the binders had files on more than 20 women each.
I see what they mean about binders now. I thought they were talking about wrist and ankle straps. Your post has clarified it for me. Many thanks!!!

Without really having the time to read the link in detail, I'd say it looks good.

For me, it wouldn't be the relation to the mother that is important, but the relation to the baby. Such leave should be shared between the legal guardians of the child, whatever their biological relation to the child. Your proposal of sharing it with any person of the parents choice seems a bit difficult in practice and open to abuse. (I see a black market in "parental leave days" opening up.)

Also, earlier in the thread I objected to a generalization that women do not want non-flexible jobs. With your post, I must object to the implicit assumption that the mother is always the primary caretaker. This might be so in the majority of cases, but any proposal or law about this should be as gender neutral as possible.

So please tell me why, if there are 2 persons that have the same legal relationship to a kid (mother and father), and there is no more biological reason that the mother must be the one caring for the child, you keep arguing that it is the mother who makes the decisions about who gets parental leave ?

Is it because a) you believe women should be the primary caretakers of kids, b) some other reason ?

Upon rethinking, maybe Romney does deserve to be chastised a bit. I mean, if it were me as the executive looking for women to fill positions, I would never ask for the binder if all women, but I would narrow my search by asking for the binder with young good-looking women only. I mean geez, if you are the top dog in the company, its almost a divine right to pick the ones you would enjoy working with the most. There is also the factor of dealing with clients. Which impresses a client more, to be dealing with some old liberal shriveled up prune with sagging boobs, or to deal with a young vivacious perky energetic hottie that is all smiles and don't mind getting the coffee? The choice is clear.

Did Mitt actually, really, suggest that passenger planes should have windows that can open...

Don't want to stir anything up that might have already been mentioned... just wondering... that's all...

Does anyone really think this wording made a difference in whether women will vote for Romney?

Maybe not too bad a plan if he was encouraged to open it sometime? Think - maybe with his foreign policy advisers on a trip over the Atlantic? It should be considered.
