The Swiss have long experience of negotiating multiple bilateral treaties and keeping them all consistent.

It is my firm belief that no one in Eastern Europe wants to be under Russia’s boot heel again. They saw what that was like for 40 years after the second world war; they didn’t like it then and don’t like it now either. of course, that does not necessarily mean that they will align with the EU or NATO.
