So basically, nearly the same amount of people died on the Somme (most of them within the first days of a three month campaigne...if I'm not mistaken) as died during the US civil war.

That's bizarre. Stalingrad is horrendous, but that was a 1.5 year siege.

What I found most noticeable, if that list is reliable, is that 5 of the top 7 were on the Eastern front in WWII. Not a nice time and place to be.

Genocide is the mass killing of a group of people as defined by Article 2 of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG) as "any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, as such: killing members of the group; causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life, calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; and forcibly transferring children of the group to another group."

Do you really believe that was the goal? Do you believe that genocide took place, not war?

How many people on here claim Bush practiced Genocide in Iraq? Mass murder is a different thing of course...

I'm almost certain captain Kirk threw it around.

Besides, who says I can't be more tranzi than the tranzis?

Would it be accurate to call it mass murder instead of genocide?
