So the mom is not the biological mom, just the dad. Why go to all that trouble when there are so many babies awaiting adoption?

I’m ignorant on this but could any 73 yr old carry a foetus to term or is this some sort of medical break through.

@Duchess64 it would be lovely if individuals could step back and weigh cultural pressures against what might be in the best interest of the lives involved in their decisions. This couple seem more interested in appearances than in actually experiencing the joys of raising a child. Having no plan for what might happen if they die before their child enters adulthood is a bit appalling.
