I can not believe that the NAACP would stoop so low! "His crime is, it was a dog", and they only consider it as bad as hunting! Are they out of their minds? From a tv reporter I watched, he reported that the NAACP was also taking the stance that Vick was merely a kennel owner/operator that was unaware of what his employees doing. Yea, at Vicks own home!!
Does the NAACP have any morals? They want him back in the NFL because he "brings hours of enjoyment to fans all over this country."
This is not reason enough. He has stated that he is guilty. He is done! The NFL must not even consider this, or they open the flood gates. Who next? Ex-pedophiles, rapists, murderers?
What is the NAACP trying to teach its youth? Crime pays?

Originally posted by BartsIn my opinion they need to get much stiffer with penalties to players that neglect the law, you have many children today that look up to these people and they have let many of them down with thier sheer stupidity.
Does the NFL have any rules that prohibit players with a criminal record ? If they don't, then they can't keep him out of the competition.
I do hope that no team wants a player like this though.
Originally posted by torch71I agree, I hope this person doesn't play anymore as these players are role models to a lot of children. However, does the NFL have the power to keep this person out ? I'd think this would be the power of the teams as they are the actual employers.

Originally posted by BartsYes the NFL has the power to dictate to the team the way they would like them to go forward. And if the NFL expelled the player from playing, the team can do nothing about it. Now they can still go to the CFL and play I think.

Originally posted by Dace AceNo -- they're teaching that if you're black in America you should be held to a different standard of accountability. Instead of debating whether or not Michael Vick should be allowed to play in the NFL again, we should ask ourselves: Does America need an organization such as the NAACP?
